Proposals and reports
Below are some examples displaying my experience in writing lengthier, professional written pieces such as proposals and reports. These samples are taken from various assignments I completed during the semester I took a business writing class. Students were assigned specific situations and roles and expected to formulate responses accordingly. These assignments taught me how to write with different purposes and tones and have ultimately made me a better professional writer.

Proficiency Report The Proficiency Report is a detailed memo written as a response to a message sent to me by a recruiter. I had been informed that an internship position had opened up at my dream company, but I had to demonstrate sufficient mastery of professional writing as well as editing and revising. The proficiency report details the steps I take when editing a business message for better readability and concision.

Justification Report The Justification Report is a final response to a detailed scenario we had been working with for a while. I took the role of a director at a regional arts center who had recently hired a piano tuner off of a recommendation given by the previous one. This piano tuner demonstrated incompetence, leaving several keys out of tune or sticky. After contacting him, requesting additional services free of charge, the director was asked to justify the situation and the response the company had taken to one of the company's bosses that was well acquainted with the tuner. The purpose of the report is to justify the company's response to the situation and show they behaved in the best interests of the arts center.
